Good to know

Do my images get uploaded anywhere?

No. Compression happens with JavaScript running in your browser tab. Your images never touch a server.

Will this reduce quality?

Yes — compression is a trade-off. Higher quality keeps more detail and a larger file; lower quality shrinks the file further at the cost of some sharpness. 75% is a good starting point for most photos.

Why does my PNG turn into JPEG or WebP?

PNG is a lossless format, so re-saving it as PNG barely changes the size. Converting to JPEG or WebP is what actually shrinks the file. WebP keeps transparency; JPEG flattens it onto a white background.

Is there a file size or count limit?

No limit we impose — you're only bound by your device's memory. A large batch of high-resolution photos may take a few seconds longer on an older device.
